The Qatari Businessmen Association was founded by a ministerial decree no. 14 for the year 2002 as a nongovernmental, apolitical organization of a selective group of Qatari businessmen representing major private companies covering various sectors of the business community, in order to play a pivotal role in the development and progress of the private business sector with what serves its interests; to benefit and develop the components of economic development; and to increase the efficiency of the whole Qatari community.
Since its foundation, QBA has made considerable contributions to the development of Qatari private sector, the enhancement of national economy, and marketing the Qatari economy abroad via sponsoring and organizing several important economic conferences and meetings, as well as hosting many economic and trade delegations from different countries.
With the aim of promoting Qatar as a business and professional hub in the region, introducing modern economic trends and approaching the latest opportunities, QBA has participated and organized more than 100 local, regional and international economic conferences and forums. Additionally QBA has organized business development meetings and gatherings between foreign business delegations that visit the State of Qatar and members of the Qatari business community, for the purpose of discussing business opportunities and various fields of cooperation, as well as introducing the foreign business communities to the Qatari market and businessmen.
