PFRA is the self-regulatory organisation for face to face fundraising in Australia. PFRA member charities and fundraising suppliers have committed to a minimum standard for face to face fundraising, and have agreed to be held accountable against that standard.
PFRA member charities are aiming to meet some of the greatest challenges faced by communities in Australia and globally. This includes medical research in vital areas, environmental issues, providing humanitarian support to those most in need, alleviation of poverty and international development or support for the disabled.
To do this, charities must fundraise. In order to fundraise it is vital that we ensure that there is a balance between charity's need and duty to ask for support and community expectations that fundraising should be respectful and meet community standards.
PFRA works with local, state and national regulators and with other sector bodies to ensure that face to face fundraising is meeting these standards.
All charities or suppliers involved in face to face fundraising are encouraged to join the PFRA and to make the commitment to high standards in fundraising.
