Parents Helping Parents is a nonprofit organization aimed at preventing child abuse before it ever occurs by giving support to parents under stress. Our goal is to empower parents to nurture their children and build stronger families.
Our Model:
Parents Helping Parents recognizes that parenting can be challenging, demanding, exhausting, isolating, lonely, and overwhelming. When a parent feels isolated, lonely, or overwhelmed, they become less able to provide for their child. All parents need help sometimes.
At Parents Helping Parents, we believe that parents have valuable knowledge to share with one another, that to ask for help is a sign of strength, and that when a parent is listened to, heard and understood, and in general, better supported, they are also in a better position to care for their child. We believe that positive change is always possible.
We accomplish this with two programs: the Parental Stress Line, and our network of Parent Support Groups.
