Our Vision:
Our vision is that Edinburgh becomes a creative, participative city in which everyone is able to access the spaces and resources they require to pursue their own creativity, no matter who they are and what form it may take.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to provide affordable and appropriate spaces, resources, projects and opportunities for the residents of Edinburgh to be creative. We seek to make this diversity of creativity more visible and, in doing so, support the creation of cultural, social and economic value within the city.
Our Values:
The communities we reside in are at the heart of everything we do.
Those who choose to use our spaces define their own creativity.
As a Social Enterprise we seek to generate a surplus to support our ability to deliver our mission.
Creative Places:
OOTB provides affordable studio space for creative practitioners working across a broad spectrum of the creative industries. Our creative spaces include: the grade A listed Drill Hall, Bongo Club, Abbeymount Studios, Leith Walk Meanwhile Studios, Niddrie Mains Road Studios and our Music Studios.
Creative Projects:
For 25 years, we have been developing and delivering a diverse portfolio of creative projects which span a broad range of disciplines from across the creative and cultural sectors. We collaborate with cultural organisations, young people, artists, creative apprentices and multiple communities to deliver tangible benefits for everyone involved.
Creative Education
We provide innovative and accessible opportunities for creative education. For many of our participants our activities are their first exposure to the arts. We are proud to say that they are rarely their last. Indeed, many of our participants go on to develop an enduring relationship with our venues and activities.
Creative Enterprise
We have been financially self-sustaining since 1994, and have been pursuing social enterprise since long before such activity had a name.
