Opportunity International is a global non-profit organization that helps people in developing nations work their way out of poverty, strengthen their families and improve their communities. To do this, Opportunity International builds and works through sustainable, local microfinance institutions. The organization currently provides micro-loans, savings programs, micro-insurance and other financial services and training to clients in 21 countries across Africa, Asia, South America and Europe. Opportunity International operates through a global structure of 5 supporting countries including Canada, USA, Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom. Our mission is to empower people to work their way out of chronic poverty, thus transforming their lives. Our products, services and training enable clients to develop businesses, to save and to insure against an uncertain future. We strengthen and influence value chains to benefit our clients, connect them to viable markets and drive economic progress. We believe that through holistic microfinance, small-scale entrepreneurs can be change agents in creating self-sustaining communities.
