Founded by a few old Thomians in 1982, at the famous, Ceylon Tea Centre in London, the OTAUK was the first Sri Lankan Old boys' Association in UK.
With the objectives of the Association being to “Advance the education of the pupils of the Colleges, and to provide scholarships, at the Colleges".
OTAUK was one of the first Associations, to be granted the "Registered Charity" Status, by UK Charity Commissioner.
Today with a membership of over 150, the OTAUK organizes a range of fun filled activities that brings together, many Old Thomians in UK and their families. A very successful Annual Dinner Dance. The Annual Royal -Thomian Cricket and Rugby Encounter together with the ' Cricket Festival ', Koththu Nights and Chinwag Parties to name but a few.
In the past 26 years, OTAUK, has contributed approximately £ 82,000, to the 'parent Colleges' in Sri Lanka, with STC Mt.Lavinia, being the main beneficiary. OTAUK, also sponsored and entertained two (1st XII) Cricket tours to UK. The following Wardens of the College visited England and have attended many a Thomian events; Messrs. Illangakoon, Neville De Alwis and our OTAUK member Dr. David Ponniah.
One special visitor, the late Mr. Quintin Israel, had the privilege of witnessing two 'Rugby World Cups' held in British Isles, hosted by number of OTAUK Rugby players.
