The National Assessment Governing Board sets policy for The Nation’s Report Card, also known as the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) – the country’s most respected representative measurement of student achievement. The Board is made up of 26 members appointed for 4-year terms by the U.S. Secretary of Education and includes local and state educators and policymakers, testing and measurement experts, curriculum specialists, business leaders and general public representatives. These members are highly qualified and respected experts and practitioners in their fields.
