NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI Utah’s mission is to ensure the dignity and improve the lives of those who live with mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy.
NAMI Utah is a grassroots organization that has been serving those living with a mental illness and their families for 36 years. NAMI Utah strives to erase stigma and raise awareness about mental illness through ongoing prevention and promotion efforts, as well as improve our systems of care by working with community partners, agencies, corporations, and other entities.
Treatment works, recovery is possible, there is hope, YOU are not alone!
Across the country, one in four individuals is affected by a mental health condition. In Utah, 189,369 adults and youth needed treatment in 2014, while only 48,528 individuals were served.
NAMI Utah has 13 local affiliate groups operate in almost every county in the state, which provide all of our classes and support groups. The local affiliates receive training, materials and support from the State Office, but are able to deliver our services through volunteers at the local level.
