The Ag Center was chartered by the 86th Congress in 1957 and signed by President Eisenhower in 1960 to serve as the "The National Museum of Agriculture and as a memorial to farming leaders."
In addition to preserving agriculture's heritage, the Ag Center educates and reaches out to share the importance of modern agriculture and natural resource systems. The exhibits emphasize historical retrospectives and current technologies that are shaping the industry's future.
Located in the Kansas City, Kansas West Village area, the Ag Center is neighbor to the Kansas Speedway, KC Sporting Stadium, Schlitterbahn Water Park, Hollywood Casino and the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre.
