The New York City Employment and Training Coalition is an association of 200 community based organizations, educational institutions, and labor unions that annually provide job training and employment services to over 750,000 New Yorkers, including welfare recipients, unemployed workers, low-wage workers, at-risk youth, the formerly incarcerated, immigrants and the mentally and physically disabled. The Coalition is the only citywide association exclusively focused on workforce development.
Started in 1998 as a volunteer organization and incorporated in 2001, NYCETC has continued to grow in numbers and influence. NYCETC’s advocacy, policy and education efforts play a vital role in promoting and strengthening the City’s community-based workforce system, as well as in providing access to the critical information and resources our members need to provide the highest quality direct services . NYCETC’s programs and events provide the City’s workforce community the opportunity to not only share views, but also to reach consensus on policy positions and strategies.
