The NICOLE Foundation (NICOLE Stichting) works with volunteers from the professional environmental community to clean up the scars of our industrial pollution legacy where the polluter pays principle is no longer achievable (orphan sites) and that pose an imminent and serious threat to ecosystems and people.
We partner with NGOs, Funders and Volunteers to solve the world’s most challenging land contamination projects. Our projects focus on preserving biodiversity by cleaning up abandoned industrial legacy sites, supporting the production of safe food by proposing management actions on contaminated agricultural land and applying circular economy principles in the management of abandoned waste.
NGOs and Multilateral Organisations partner with the Foundation to receive fast, easy to access, skilled professionals for land contamination projects.
Funders support the Foundation through an auditable process to promote ESG objectives and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Volunteers apply their skills to a worthy cause by preserving biodiversity, cleaning up contaminated industrial sites and enabling the production of safe food on contaminated agricultural land.
