The Fundación Museo de Informática, Computadoras y Accesorios Tecnológicos - ICATEC is the first computer history museum in Argentina. The Museum holds a significant and varied collection of computing hardware, software and documents. From early calculating machines to giant mainframes and also including home computers from the 70s, 80s and 90s, thousands of items bring the story of computing to life.
Its mission is to preserve and present for posterity this artefacts and the memories of the early pioneers pioneers who worked and played with them. By presenting and allowing direct interaction with working equipment, it offers a unique opportunity to the general public, educators, students and professionals.
The Museum was established as a non-profit organization in 2008 by the Resolution Nº 0000992 of the IGJ and opened its permanent exhibition in Buenos Aires in 2013. It regularly holds special exhibitions that explore modern perspectives on computing, culture, history and ideas.
