The Monroe County Humane Association (MCHA) is dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals, strengthening the human-animal bond, and providing access to veterinary care & humane education across our community.
We have been responsibly & compassionately protecting, advocating and educating for animal welfare since 1956.
MCHA is a direct service provider for accessible veterinary services, animal care resources, humane education, and a leading animal welfare advocate for our community. MCHA participates in hands on emergency rescue work with local and regional law enforcement and animal care agencies. MCHA is not an animal shelter, and we do not oversee adoptable animals.
MCHA is an independent, local 501c(3) nonprofit organization that relies on donations, sponsorships and grants to fund all of our programs. MCHA does not receive government funding or tax dollars and is not associated with national animal welfare organizations.
