Mobility Outreach International (MOi) is a Seattle-based nonprofit that enables physically disabled individuals in under-resourced areas of the world to improve their lives. MOi provides treatment to children with clubfoot, and prosthetic and orthotic services, physical rehabilitation, advocacy, and orthopedic surgical outreach to adults and children, through MOi-assisted programs in Vietnam, Haïti, Sierra Leone, and Bangladesh.
The sustainability of our innovative approach to care strengthens the capacity of the countries our programs serve, and provides long-lasting benefit to both the healthcare systems and economies of MOi-assisted communities. This sustainable approach ultimately transitions all MOi-assisted healthcare, training, and technical programs to the local communities we serve. With proper investment in community education, training, and strong government relations, these programs will continue to thrive without MOi’s assistance.
MOi-assisted medical, surgical and technical training enables communities to maintain the in-country treatment and prosthetics and orthotics production facilities we help them establish. MOi recently implemented two new programs: Mobility Repair Centers (in Haiti and Sierra Leone) and the Mobile Health Program, a data collection system that enables MOi to identify trends, help with quality assurance and improve overall patient treatment.
Established in 1989 as "Prosthetics Outreach Foundation," MOi has served over 23,000 adults and children immobilized by limb loss and deformity. For more information, please visit mobilityoi.org.
