WHO || Marsala District is a collective of organizers in the field of cultural events and leisure. The name comes from the first project that saw them working together: an itinerant exhibition held during #BolognaDesignWeek 2018. Marsala District operates with a focus on unpublished spaces, private homes, galleries et. It also attempts to increase its network of institutions, professionals and companies with the objective of a perfect outcome in the events.
WHERE || Marsala District is mostly active in the territory of Bologna but it’s open to projects outside the territory of origin. Marsala landed in Lombardy too with an ambitious performance.
WHY || Marsala District was created to give back to the city a space, meaning and knowledge. It does so with the aim of creating collaboration, growth, employment. Marsala District has the objective of being a sustainable example, a link between companies, institutions, professionals, artists and students.
WITH || Marsala District has exhibited among others photographs and award-winning installations by Bénédicte Vanderreydt, Diego Repetto, has worked on a project with Dimora Artica from Milan, hosted the design of Stile Bottega, Cazador del Sol, Mamate Lab and collaborated with Lavazza, Faber, Oway . In his projects, Marsala District involved the Metropolitan city of Bologna, University of Bologna, School of Sustainability and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium. Marsala District gave space to the creativity of the ISIA students.
In 2019 Marsala District worked in the production of Nel Ventre della Dea by Sandro Truzzi, a performance of contemporary dance that mixed movement, light and live music.
