Mapaction

MapAction is a charity that brings together more than 80 expert data and geospatial volunteers to map humanitarian disasters for the UN and other relief agencies. Maps help everyone in an emergency response to mitigate a given humanitarian priority and take the best possible relief actions. This helps answer key questions in an earthquake or a cyclone, like: Which roads are blocked? What does the weather forecast look like? Where should shelters be established? For 20 years, in 140 emergency deployments and 80 countries - and hundreds more training events with partners worldwide - MapAction has provided disaster relief agencies, governments and grassroots organisations with maps, data-driven tools and solutions to ensure decisions about resources like food, water and housing are fairly and efficiently made.
