Manufacture : San Jose (MFG : SJ) is a new public-private initiative, with the goal to drive resources, knowledge, and visibility to the city’s more than 1200 manufacturers and the more than 65,000 men and women they employ. Launched in early 2018, MFG : SJ is a partnership of the City of San Jose and the non-profits CMTC California’s Manufacturing Network, and SFMade.
PROGRAMS + SERVICES:
Manufacture : San Jose (MFG : SJ) will support and strengthen the sector by delivering an integrated suite of advising, education, and workforce and hiring services targeted at locally-owned and operated manufacturing companies in San Jose, including multi-generational family-owned businesses, manufacturing suppliers, food and beverage producers, and more. The focus of these programs is to drive more visibility, knowledge, and access to resources for San Jose’s estimated 800 small-to-medium-size (SMB) manufacturing enterprises who are an essential part of our regional economy. Programs will include:
California Manufacturer’s Accelerator Program(™), providing growing manufacturing companies with intensive advising and support focused on key areas including, sales and marketing, finance, workforce planning, supply chain and real estate/space planning.
Educational Workshops on a variety of topics addressing the specific needs of manufacturing companies.
Manufacturing forums in partnership with the Silicon Valley Manufacturer’s Roundtable, bringing together local manufacturing leaders to network, share ideas and address pertinent issues in the industry.
Hiring Made Better manufacturing workforce program, in partnership with Work2Future helping companies to prepare for and hire from the local workforce.
