THE LOVE OF SHAPE AND FORM
What we are passionate about in developing our bags is to create new volumes. By thinking first and foremost about how they are going to be used: they need to be practical, lightweight, pleasing to carry or to wear, easy to use, and with the right capacity.
But we also hope that they will be original, attractive, sometimes fun, and surprising. To embellish everyday life, or to dress up festive events.
These are values that bring us back to ecology because it is Nature itself that offers us the spectacle of a profusion of shapes and forms, which are extraordinarily diverse and sometimes extraordinarily extravagant.
Those shapes and forms have always fascinated human beings. Indeed, the lost ancient civilisations continue to make impressions on us through the beauty of the shapes and forms they created.
Bringing elegance and seduction. Because the bag is a favourite or “fetish” object. The accessory of desire…
LOCAL MADE
All our bags are made entirely in our workshop, which is located in the 18 th Arrondissement of Paris, in the heart of the Goutte d’Or District.
This commitment was born out of a desire to recreate the spirit of a “craft workshop” or a “manufacture” as it is known in French, i.e. place of manufacture at which the quality of the work and of the workforce is paramount.
It also expresses a symbiosis between creating and crafting, because the two are mutually enriching. And also aims to recreate the ecology of a product that is made entirely in one place.
This anchoring and these values were recognised at the end of 2018 since one of our models, the SOLOGNE, was awarded the First Prize of the “Fabriqué à Paris” (“Made in Paris”) Label in the category Fashion and Accessories.
INNOVATION AND FINE CRAFT TRADES
Fine craft trades form a precious heritage passed down from ancient times: transforming matter into the sublimely beautiful by the work of the hand to obtain a little extra soul, and an emotion.
Hybridising innovation and the fine craft trades is a challenge for the future. In order to broaden the scope of what is possible, while also regaining harmony with the environment.
This involves working on assembly configurations, and on assembling materials together. It contributes to generating new volumes, and particular consistencies.
