Limmud is a global movement which is identified with significant grassroots transformations of Jewish life over the last forty years.
Limmud has become a standard for its festivals of learning and culture, and the impact achieved through the development of volunteers that organise these events and activities, supported and trained by the generations that came before.
Limmud was established in the UK in 1980. Today Limmud is part of a global network, with a focus on the UK Jewish community, facilitating a variety of events, including the flagship Limmud Festival which attracts 2,800 people of all ages enjoying over 1,000 sessions during a week-long celebration of Jewish learning, culture and community each December.
Limmud communities everywhere share the commitment, “Wherever you find yourself, Limmud will take you one step further on your Jewish journey.”
All Limmud groups promote learning, volunteerism, and diversity, yet each event is adapted to the local culture.
