THE SIBELIUS HALL CONCERT AND CONGRESS CENTRE was inaugurated on March 9, 2000.
The buildings were designed by architects Hannu Tikka and Kimmo Lintula of Artto Palo Rossi Tikka Architects and the acoustics by Artec Consultants Inc. together with their Chairman, Russell Johnson.
The Sibelius Hall complex comprises a fully-modernised, red-brick Carpenter’s Factory more than a century old, a 1,229-seat concert hall, a Forest Hall linking the two and a Congress Wing. The bearing material in all the new sections is wood.
