International Disaster Volunteers

International Disaster Volunteers (IDV) is a volunteer driven, non-governmental organization that helps disaster affected and at-risk communities worldwide find sustainable solutions to the problems they face. IDV is unusual in the world of disaster response in that we don't charge a participation or joining fee and we accept all volunteers whatever their occupation. We are founded on the belief that you don't have to be a doctor, structural engineer, or rich to affect real change in the lives of those devastated by natural disaster. We’re currently supporting on-going Haitian led work in Port au Prince while also working in Manila to help at risk communities become more able to resist and recover from floods.
