The Institute for Reform and Solutions is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2012 by Criminologist and criminal justice system expert, Dr. Nancy J. Insco with the support of researchers, academicians, officials, and students committed to reform of the criminal system in the United States. The organization, headquartered in historic Staunton, Virginia is dedicated to the widespread education of government officials and private sector leaders, as well as, importantly, the community regarding the societal and economic impacts of criminal justice decision-making which effect all sectors of American life.
Through its various divisions, the Institute for Reform and Solutions has been designed to engage and perpetuate a national dialog among audiences at all levels, to address the difficult, sensitive issues which have encumbered progress toward principled, equalitarian, cost-effective, efficient, just, and restorative solutions.
