Ilmatar Offshore plans to develop, deploy, own and operate offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Bothnia. Our first projects are located north of the Åland Islands and in Finnish EEZ waters east of Ostrobothnia. We are also planning offshore wind power in Finnish territorial waters. Our target is to start construction of offshore wind power before 2030. Ilmatar Offshore was established on the Åland Islands in spring 2022, as a subsidiary of the Finnish energy company Ilmatar.
Founded in 2011, Ilmatar is an energy company, independent power producer, and leading long-term PPA (power purchase agreement) provider focused exclusively on renewable energy. The company's mission is to contribute to a sustainable future by developing, owning, and operating one of the largest renewable energy fleets in Finland and the Nordic Region, including offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage, and renewable hydrogen facilities. Ilmatar owns its projects throughout their lifecycle of up to 40 years.
Ilmatar offices are located in Helsinki, Oulu, Tampere and Kuopio in Finland, in Mariehamn, Åland and in Malmö and Karlstad, Sweden.
