ICEA, Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification, is a nonprofit consortium with the participation of institutions, associations, companies and civil society organizations.
ICEA inspects and certifies several thousand companies that conduct its businesses with respect for people and the environment, protecting the dignity of workers and the rights of consumers.
ICEA was born from the experience of AIAB (Italian Association for Organic Agriculture): the ICEA commitment, therefore, starts from the organic farming and from the idea of a sustainable and fair economy scheme and it goes beyond the organic concept because it moves towards an economy and lifestyle that require a responsible
conversion of methods, systems and practices.

The inspection and certification services offered by ICEA are intended both to Italian companies aiming to export to foreign markets (such as America, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, United Kingdom, Brazil etc.) for which it is requested additional certifications with respect to certification Bio 834/07, and to foreign companies wishing
to mainly export to Italy, thus supporting the development of supply chains. ICEA has the acknowledgments required to certify, under Regulation 834/07 in equivalence, in many countries.
