Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County(HIS_OC) (formerly HIS House) has been serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness for the last 31 years. Our mission is to empower the homeless to regain self-sufficiency. What sets Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County apart is that we provide programs tailored to the needs of the unhoused or housing-insecure populations, families, transitional-aged youth (TAY), college students, and senior citizens, to ensure the effectiveness of our work.
-Transitional Program - Stable housing and supportive services for families and adults to empower them to regain self-sufficiency. A total of 54 beds are available in North Orange County.
-The transitional aged youth shelter (TAY) - Combining housing, education, and basic life skills training for young men and women 18-24. Young individuals complete school or job training and have 1-2 years to complete the program.
-HomeShare OC - A home-sharing program for all pairing seniors, families, and TAY together for partnerships, financial support, and ending isolation.
-Housing and Resources Connection - The Housing Connection program provides the support that homeless individuals and families need to successfully transition from living on the street to thriving in their homes. The Resouces Connection supplies at-risk individuals with linkage to financial assistance, support, and education.
