Hämeenlinna Art Museum features an unparalleled art collection of more than 8,000 works of art. The core of the museum collection is formed by the works evacuated from the Vyborg Art Museum due to the Second World War. After the war, part of these works was deposited in the Hämeenlinna Art Museum founded in 1952.
The museum operates in two buildings in the Verkatehdas area, both featuring temporary exhibition that showcase both older Finnish art and the latest contemporary art styles.
