Our Vision
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell's vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live - and housing poverty and homelessness are eliminated.
We work to strengthen families in 16 North Middlesex County communities in Massachusetts. We do this through affordable homeownership opportunities. HFHGL works in partnership with corporations, like-minded community groups, faith-based organizations, and individual volunteers to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating simple, decent, energy efficient, affordable homes.
Since its founding in 1991, HFHGL has built or renovated a total of 49 homes in Bedford, Billerica, Concord, Lowell, Reading, Tewksbury and Westford. To date, HFHGL's largest completed project is an 8 home neighborhood, located located on Carter Way Bedford and 10 homes in the Acre neighborhood in Lowell which includes a neighborhood park. Along with building homes, HFGL also does Critical Home Repairs for the elderly, veterans and disabled. Today we have done 60 of these repairs. HFHGL has funded the construction of 77 homes globally.
Many volunteering opportunities are available helping to build homes, work on Critical Home Repairs and help in our ReStore.
