Groundworks Collaborative was established in 2015 as a result of the merger of two well-established organizations: the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center and Morningside Shelter. Groundworks' mission is to work with people and systems creating solutions to end hunger and homelessness for all people in our region. Our programs include:
• Food Shelf - serves an average of 90 households each day
• Shelter - a year-round 30-bed shelter for families and individuals
• Seasonal Overflow Shelter – open in the winter months, serving an average of 25 individuals per night
• Day Shelter – provides a safe space to spend the day as well as email, telephones, laundry, showers, coffee and snacks for homeless individuals and families
• Case Management – for currently and formerly homeless families and individuals
• Representative Payee – financial management for over 50 clients on SSI and/or SSDI – ensures that rent and basic living expenses are paid on time each month
