Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Incorporated was founded at Morgan State College (now Morgan State University) on October 12, 1962; by fourteen exceptional young black men, with the goal of creating an intelligent and effective leadership to study and alleviate the social and economic problems of society.
Our founders established the Fellowship with the purpose of promoting academic achievement, social justice, community empowerment , good ethical standards, and unity amongst men in undergraduate and graduate college programs. Our fellowmen endeavor to play an integral role in strengthening and serving communities left outside the realm of prosperity.
Our International membership consist of 60,000 members and 150 of graduate and undergraduate chapters across the United States and abroad. Our members work in a wide variety of career areas, including accounting, education, engineering, human resource services, local and state government, medicine, law, protective services, information technology, religion, real estate, food service, skilled crafts, music, professional sports, the armed services, and business.
