A great film has the power to communicate stories, to stir emotions, to inspire, to encourage action and to redress inequity and injustice in health. At Global Health Film we use story-telling and film to bring people together from all over the world to experience excellent storytelling – well-researched facts, compelling characters, engaging storylines – in order to create understanding and empathy, to ignite academic, personal and professional interest in familiar and new issues. We promote many sorts of storytelling; mainly the moving image – film, animation, VR, but also drama, participatory theatre, journalism. We bring people together to learn from each other and from their own reflections; we nurture an appetite for individual and collective action.
