The GC Rivera Foundation is a 501 c (3) organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. The primary intention is to provide medical and alternative medicine healthcare to underprivileged individuals (the poorest of the poor) and children with special needs (autism spectrum disorder, Down's Syndrome, MS, etc.) through paradigm-shifting, integrative, medical, surgical missions within and outside the U.S.A. The GC Rivera Foundation is named after Genoveva Castro Rivera (1898-1970), mother of Dr. Rebecca Castro Rivera, M.D. and matriarch of the Castro Rivera family. Genoveva (pronounced "hen-o-vev-a") lived a life exemplified by the simple yet powerful value of selfless, service to others by feeding the hungry, educating the poor and offering shelter to the homeless. Almost a half century after her death, Dr. Rebecca has continued to carry on her mother's values by launching a non-profit organization in her name.
