Flourish is an open group of third-sector organisations working in partnership with the Ladywood and Perry Barr Locality Partnership to reduce health inequalities across 'West Birmingham'. As the first of its kind in Birmingham, Flourish brings together over 170 members who span the public, private and voluntary sectors, including health professionals, educational networks, social enterprises and voluntary organisations working at a hyper-local level.
Flourish supports the establishment and running of workstreams. Workstreams are projects led by Flourish’s members working within their communities for their communities.
Current projects include:
- The Best Start in Life (BSiL) workstream supports the various areas contributing to healthy pregnancies, births and early childhoods.
- The Building Trust workstream works to establish a collaborative working relationship between community organisations and the NHS and elevate the VCFSE sector's voice.
- The Primary Care Access workstream advocates for successful primary care relationships for all.
- The Diabetes, Obesity and Asthma workstream focuses on areas of specific relevance to our communities.
- The Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) workstream works to improve the journey for SEND families and address local challenges and high levels of unmet needs.
Through shared expertise and inter- and intra-sector collaboration, Flourish works to address health and care inequalities in West Birmingham to improve all local people's health, well-being, and life expectancy.
