Filling in the Blanks is a nonprofit that fights childhood hunger by providing needy children with meals on the weekends. We believe that every child should have access to nutritious meals not only during the school year but the summer when the free and reduced lunch programs are not available. By removing the obstacle of food insecurity, children will experience increased academic achievement in school and heightened opportunities for success in their lives. Since January of 2021, Filling in the Blanks has delivered over 1 Million weekend meals.
Filling in the Blanks was founded by Tina Kramer and Shawnee Knight in May 2013. Filling in the Blanks provides a peer to peer opportunity in which school-aged children are able to have a hands-on experience and see immediate tangible results, through packing of food, food drives and fundraising.
We are getting the community, adults & children, involved with hands on approach.
