Eta Kappa Nu (ΗΚΝ) is the international electrical and computer engineering honor society of the IEEE, founded in October 1904 by Maurice L. Carr at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
The Epsilon Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu at Pennsylvania State University was chartered in 1909, only 5 years after the initial founding of Eta Kappa Nu. Penn State Epsilon is the fifth oldest HKN chapter and has much in its history about which to be proud, both at the local and the national levels.
The Epsilon Chapter has maintained a variety of annual activities, such as offering undergraduate tutoring and exam review sessions, holding information nights for graduate school and undergraduate courses, and hosting tech workshops in partnership with IEEE.
Eta Kappa Nu is recognized around the globe as the honor society that represents the highest values of the Electrical & Computer Engineering profession.
