Eastern Ct Workforce Investment Board

Mandated by the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014 and supported by federal, state, and philanthropic funding, EWIB accomplishes these goals in its 41-town service area by coordinating a dedicated network of partners to implement programs and initiatives including: Three American Job Center-East locations Industry-driven Manufacturing and Healthcare workforce pipeline programs A variety of workforce preparation programs for youth A range of services for employers EWIB is governed by a private-sector-majority Board of Directors comprised of representatives from regional businesses, state agencies, organized labor, educational institutions, and other stakeholders. EWIB has earned national recognition for its collaborative and demand-driven approach to workforce development. EWIB will continue to facilitate cross-sector partnerships that design and deliver innovative solutions to the needs of workers and businesses and leverage Eastern Connecticut’s most valuable asset – its dynamic workforce.
