Dream School Foundation was established in Bangalore India in 2005 by a group of passionate volunteers. Through our work, we strive to break the cycle of the socio-economic vulnerability of children and families and help them to help themselves through the power of education.
We believe that every child has the right to quality and equitable education.
India is home to millions of ‘out-of-school’ children, with girls accounting for majority of the dropouts. Girls, children with special needs, children from low-income families, children from slums and rural areas are most likely to be denied an education. This has far-reaching consequences on their future, as well as the future of their families, economies and countries. We stand for all children to have equitable access to education, from school to university. We work with children, their families, communities and wider society.
Our work is focused on making a sustainable difference in the lives of the most disadvantaged and excluded children, while also promoting gender equality.
We work closely with Education Department and are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) of the Government of India.
Dream School Foundation is committed to assisting students from ‘schools to livelihood’. We recognise that teenagers and youth from disadvantaged communities need further support to enjoy and exercise their rights to livelihood. This has led us to extend our work for young people till the age of 24.
