We are an independent aid organization supported by donors, volunteers and employees worldwide. We are committed globally to and with people who suffer from diseases associated with poverty and can have devastating consequences for those affected - such as disability or exclusion. We diagnose and treat leprosy, tuberculosis and other neglected tropical diseases such as Buruli ulcer and schistosomiasis. The heart of our work is the promotion of medical and social projects. We focus on the needs of those affected and want to enable them to live in dignity and to participate equally in the community. In our projects we cooperate with experienced local organisations. We cooperate with international and national players in medical and social development cooperation and research. We enter into strategic alliances in order to achieve the best possible impact. We consider the needs, capacities, values and quality requirements of our project partners. We adhere to national and international standards and promote self-responsibility. We finance our work through donations and public funds. With the funds entrusted to us, we fulfil our statutory mandate at home and abroad in accordance with the principles of economy and proportionality. We see ourselves as a link between people who want to help and those who need help. We feel responsible for ensuring that the donors' desire to change a fate becomes professional medical and social help that reaches the people. We make the connections between illness and poverty visible, so that the people in ONE world show empathy and act in solidarity.
