Common Thread is a welcoming community specifically designed for teens who have experienced significant adversity to support mental health, build community, and foster resilience.
Trauma research reveals healing and recovery from trauma to be impossible without lasting, caring connections to others. We desire for teens to feel safe, better connect with themselves and others, gain skills and confidence in new experiences, increase access to safe adults, and have more opportunities to form positive experiences to heal.
We organize events for teens ages 12+ and are building out programs to better support teens. We have built a Teen Advisory Board to ensure this community centers teen voices, as this is their community. From pottery, paddle-boarding, and summer outdoor movies to equine-assisted group work, art classes, and free therapy, Common Thread is working hard to organize free activities and resources within the community. We are passionate about creating a space for those connected by this "common thread." We have a team of certified, diverse, and trauma-informed staff. If you are questioning whether or not to come, please join us!
