In May 2015, Carrie Bickmore won the prestigious Gold Logie at the TV Week Logie awards, which she dedicated to her late husband Greg who passed away five years earlier following a 10-year battle with brain cancer. Carrie went on to form Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer Foundation which aims to raise desperately needed funds towards research into the horrible disease that is brain cancer.
Brain Cancer kills more people under the age of 40 than any other cancer and more children in Australia than ANY other disease.
Approximately 1,600 Australians are diagnosed with brain cancer each year and of them 80% will die. Survival rates haven't changed in 30 years. Currently there is no cure.
CB4BC Foundation is proud to have raised over $11 million for brain cancer research to date. But we need to do more. We need to increase survival rates and the only way to do this is through vital research.
We believe together we can make a difference and stop other families from losing someone they love to brain cancer.
