CNSA is a national organization representing the voices of Canadian nursing students. CNSA's goal is to increase the legal, ethical, professional and educational interests of nursing students and is actively dedicated to the positive promotion of nurses and the nursing profession as a whole.
CNSA, with 29,000 members, is an affiliate member of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) and Practical Nurses Canada as well as an associate member of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU). The CNSA has a reciprocal relationship with Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN). Members of CNSA's Executive Committee sit on the Boards of Directors of CNSA, CFNU and CASN.
CNSA is guided by the following underlying principles and objectives:
1) To be the primary resource for Canadian nursing students
2) Influence and advance innovation and social justice in the nursing curriculum and the nursing profession
3) Strengthening linkages and creating new partnerships
