The California Reserve Peace Officers Association (CRPOA) was founded in 1974 for the purpose of raising the professional, educational and employment standards of Reserve Peace Officers. Although originally founded solely for the benefit of Reserve Peace Officers, the association now also serves Search and Rescue Team Members, and Volunteers in Policing. In fact, we are the only association in California providing volunteers with specialized coverage in the area of Legal Services, Accident Insurance and Disability Insurance.
Agencies seldom have the time to be proactive with legislators on issues that directly affect you. Keeping an eye on legislative bills is a time-consuming activity that CRPOA also performs on your behalf. We actively participate in POST committees and discussions regarding Reserve Peace Officer Training and Utilization.
Each year CRPOA sponsors the Annual Reserve Peace Officers Conference (ARPOC), one of the largest law enforcement training events in the state. The classes offer POST-certfied training that provides the 24 hours of Continuing Professions Training required every two years for Reserve Peace Officers in California.
