Cairo English School

Cairo English School opened in September 2006. It is one of a number of British-style international schools in Cairo. It is situated in the rapidly developing area called New Cairo to the east of the city and close to the international airport. The school has been blessed with exceptional facilities and learning resources, details of which can be found elsewhere on this website. Class sizes are most favourable and high priority is given to the recruitment and retention of excellent teachers, the vast majority of which are UK qualified and have experience of teaching either in the UK or in British international schools. Typical features of a high quality British independent school are fully in evidence. So, for example, every child attends school in uniform; there are weekly assemblies; the English National Curriculum is used; SATS, IGCSE and A Levels are provided; there is a comprehensive schedule of reporting of students’ progress; discipline, respect and good manners are highly valued; extra-curricular activities are highly valued. At the same time, both the language and culture of Egypt is cherished and the concept of internationalism is fostered.
