Care UK Charity helps those in need, whoever and wherever they are, by recycling, reusing and passing on donated practical items.
Since 2015, when founder Nora Carlin reacted to images of little 4 year old Alun Kurdi, washed up on a Turkish beach, we have sent 70 forty foot containers of practical aid to Greece, Lesvos, Chios, Syria, Cyprus, Turkey and Uganda.
In 2016 when it became apparent there was an overwhelming need locally the Care UK Charity Homes Team was established providing local families and individuals, with personal items and all the basics to set up home. Their needs and backgrounds can vary enormously ex-prisoners, families coming out of the women’s refuge, family break ups, homeless, mental health - many many reasons why peoples lives have changed and they need support. We can provide anything that we have donated or have funds to purchase. Most household furniture - beds, sofas, dining tables and chairs, wardrobes, chest of drawers, TVs whitegoods, rugs curtains, duvets, pillows, crockery, cutlery, kitchen paraphernalia all items which many of us discard when we buy new but if in good condition can be passed on to help someone else on the journey. We have a whole department doing this every day of the week.
We have a Food Bank supporting local families. One of our trustees is a local family support manager with Warrington Borough Council and says that tenancy success is much improved if a home is set up for living and comfort. That’s a win-win for everyone!
Are you a manufacturer or stockist of any of the items on our most wanted list? Do you have stocks that are nearly out of date, or no longer current? Could you donate them to us? You would be fulfilling your CSR/ESG in terms of recycling, and clearing space in your storage facilities all at the same time.
You can make a difference
More importantly, you will be helping people in need, families with children trying to survive in horrendous conditions both here in the UK and overseas
