Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) is an association of South Africa’s largest corporations and major multinational companies with a significant presence in South Africa. Members are committed to the national goals of addressing the challenges of poverty, inequality and unemployment.
Formerly known as the South Africa Foundation, the organisation changed its name and brand to BLSA in 2005. It relaunched with the same mission objective of speaking as a united voice of globally competitive and nationally responsible companies, suppliers and employees.
BLSA members include Standard Bank, FNB, Vodacom,Discovery, Hollard, Investec, Tiger Brands, Woolworths, Anglo American, Mondi, Murray & Roberts, Shell, Sasol, Engen, Sanlam, Tongaat Hulett and Old Mutual and more (https://www.blsa.org.za/members/). Together, BLSA pursues an agenda in the shared interest of business and society. BLSA believes in ‘enterprise’ bridging between privately-owned, state-owned and foreign-owned firms, as we all have a role to play in building South Africa by creating value for the nation and financing the state’s redistributive efforts.
