Bbanga Project works sustainably and holistically towards a self-determined future for all children.
For a world in which today's children support the children of tomorrow!
Aim of the project is to provide sustainable Development Aid, by providing children the access to school education and along with that strengthening the families and entire community through several projects.
Bbanga is the name of the rocks in the middle of Victoria Lake, where children are usually brought to support their families with fishing, when they can´t attend school. These Bbangas are also called stone nannies, so that they know where their kids are.
With Bbanga Project we are working on the goal to have these children be able to attend school.
Currently a Boarding School is being built in oder to provide school access for children on smaller islands without any access to school. The main Hall with the library and the latrines are already finished.
Main pillars of Bbanga Project:
• Education - School sponsorship program, mobile library, first big library on 83 islands, building of Bbanga elemantary school, several workshops (private tutoring, IT lessons,..)
• Social - Support of families by producing and selling clay bricks, sanitary pads and handcraft, Female Ispirement
• Health - Organization and Sponsoring of medical care and providing information workshops on Hygiene, Birth Control & Sexual Transmittable Diseases
• Nutrition - Implementation of food programs in schools (fruits)
• Leisure and Sports - Providing swim lessons which is important due to the location at the water and providing children self confidence and fun (bicycle riding,..)
