BIAFF- Batumi International Art-house Film Festival is an annual event held in Batumi (Georgia) in middle of September. The major goal of BIAFF is to enhance cultural exchange, understanding and collaboration between film makers, producers and film critics from various countries, provide the opportunity to film lovers to see the newest art-house films and meet famous film makers at festival.
During past years the honorary guests of festival were - Bela Tarr (Hungary), Nuri Bilge Ceylan (Turkey), Krzystof Zanussi, Zbygnev Rybchinski, Jerzy Radziwilowicz, Jerzy Sturr (Poland), Pawel Pawlikoski (UK), Jos Stelling (Nethelands), Abass Kiarostami, Manijet Hekmat, Ramtin Lavafipour (Iran), Sidiqq Barmak (Afghanistan), Mikheil Kobakhidze (France/Georgia), Nino Kirtadze (France/Georgia) etc.
BIAFF program consists of several sections:
International competitions - Feature, Documentary, Shorts
Masters collection - films of well-known film directors
Special Sections - focus on country, special guest filmmakers etc.
