Passionate about animal welfare? Join us at BAWA, a nonprofit organisation based in Indonesia, committed to improving the lives of animals in Bali and beyond. Our primary focus is the indigenous Bali dog, believed by some scientists to be the oldest and most genetically pure canine species. In 2023 alone, BAWA responded to over 7000 emergency calls, found loving homes for 217 animals, distributed meals to 200,000 street dogs, provided medication and treatment to thousands, and educated 66,000 students on animal welfare. We actively advocate for upgraded and enforced animal welfare laws in Indonesia, combating organised dogfighting, the dog meat trade, cruel animal markets, and other forms of inhumanity towards animals.
