The Auburn University Foundation receives all charitable contributions made in support of and to benefit Auburn University and Auburn University at Montgomery.
Established in 1960 and led by a volunteer board of directors, the Foundation works in cooperation with Auburn University’s fundraising professionals to increase philanthropic giving to the university, which enhances quality faculty and instruction, advances academic and student programs, and increases scholarships and fellowships.
The Auburn University Foundation is a separate and distinct nonprofit organization, charged by the Auburn University president to ensure all donations made to Auburn University and AUM benefit the institutions as intended, and to manage the universities’ endowments so as to provide a perpetual source of funding for the future.
It is incorporated as an Alabama nonprofit corporation and certified by the Internal Revenue Service as a qualified charitable organization. Gifts to the foundation, listed in IRS Publication 78, Cumulative List of Organizations and described in Code 10(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are tax deductible as permitted by law. The foundation has met certain standards and requirements of the Internal Revenue Service within the meaning of IRS Code Sec. 501(c)(3). The foundation’s Tax Exempt Identification Number is 63-6022422.
