Ateneo Hinomoto has been working with the Japanese Studies Program of the Ateneo de Manila University since 2010 to instill appreciation and passion for Japanese language and culture to the Ateneo community.
On June 21, 2019, we have been recognized as an official organization of the Ateneo de Manila University through the accreditation by the Loyola Schools through the recommendation of the Office of Student Activities of the university, to operate as a bone fide student organization of the Ateneo pursuant to CHED Memorandum Order Number 09 Section 19 Series 2013.
The main mission of Ateneo Hinomoto is to empower its members with a better understanding of Japanese culture though self-enriching initiatives. Furthermore, through a network of partnerships with Japanese institutions, we aim to impart a better understanding of Japan’s mark on the global community. This advocacy is manifested in Ateneo Hinomoto's language tutorials, Filipino-Japanese interactions and celebrations of Japanese cultural events throughout the year.
As for the vision of the organization, Ateneo Hinomoto aims to be an agent of cultural diversity and a center for societal development by means of inspiring and immersing members in the discipline, diligence, and ingenuity found in Japanese society.
