Asmae - Association Sœur Emmanuelle is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) working in the field of international solidarity, specifically in the education and protection of children. It is independent, secular, apolitical, and open to all.
Present in 8 countries (Egypt, Mali, Lebanon, Philippines, Madagascar, India, Burkina Faso and France), Asmae is committed to supporting the poorest children, and to promoting their independence through education and protection. Faithful to the values of listening and reciprocity disseminated 30 years ago by Sister Emmanuelle, Asmae’s current teams continue to work together with local associations to provide advice and support.
We are convinced that it is through dialogue and sharing experiences that together we will achieve the widest-reaching and most effective local action for the benefit of children, their families and their communities. This is why the first priority for Asmae – Association Sœur Emmanuelle – is to value local skills before reinforcing them through the intervention of professionals if the need arises.
